The aim of the International Congresses on Circumpolar Health is to provide an interdisciplinary forum for all those interested in health in the circumpolar regions. Research presented includes studies conducted in Iceland,Greenland,Russia,Alaska,and Canada as well as information about development of human resources and health care management programs for the arctic regions. Topics covered include diabetes mellitus,diet and nutrition,physiological adaptation,drug and alcohol use,tuberculosis,polio,hearing loss,hepatitis,sexually transmitted diseases (STDs),and dental health.
